Dear C4FA Friends,

The City of Carlsbad has officially asked the Court to join C4FA’s current lawsuit against San Diego County.

Why? Because the County keeps ignoring a 2021 Court ruling from C4FA’s first lawsuit, a ruling that clearly says Carlsbad has the final say on how Palomar Airport is used and classified. Copies of C4FA and the City of Carlsbad’s complaints may be found here.

The City requested an emergency hearing (called an “ex parte” hearing) last Thursday, May 29 at 8:45 a.m. But, true to form, the County submitted paperwork the morning of the hearing claiming they weren’t ready. As a result, the judge postponed the hearing to the regular Court calendar, which is in November 2025.

Meanwhile, the County is still trying to get the entire lawsuit (or parts of it) thrown out using various legal tactics. Those hearings have now been pushed to December 2025. These kinds of delay strategies are typical, and C4FA is fully prepared to face them.

C4FA is pleased to have the City of Carlsbad standing with us to protect LOCAL CONTROL of Palomar Airport. The County? Not thrilled. We believe their stall tactics show they’re worried, and they should be. Just like before, they’re trying to delay, drive up legal costs, and wear us down. But we’re not going anywhere.

C4FA is 100% committed to standing up for Carlsbad and North County. Court orders must be followed. Sadly, litigation is often the only way to make sure that happens. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated.

Huge thanks to everyone who’s donated so far! We’re a 100% volunteer group, and every single donation, big or small, helps. Litigation is expensive, and we’re still a bit short. Please help us keep Palomar Airport small, safe, and community-friendly.

Thank you for standing with us!
