What’s Coming Up?
SANDAG crews will continue to build the retaining wall along the bikeway corridor. Crews will excavate the ground to prepare to install the new modular block and gravity retaining walls designed for durability and to support the surrounding landscape. After installation, crews will fill the surrounding area with soil to stabilize the structures and remove the temporary forms once the concrete sets on this segment of the bikeway.
Crews will construct catch basins to capture and direct water runoff away from the newly constructed walls and surrounding areas.
In the Civic Center Parking Lot, crews will clear the area of any vegetation and debris, and existing light poles to prepare the site for construction. Next, crews will excavate the ground to create space for a new retaining wall and then form footings for the wall to ensure it has a solid foundation.
