Last night the PAAC voted 3-3 on the expanding AA flights at Palomar Airport, resulting in not approving the lease and expanded flights.

Although this will most likely not stop the County Board of Supervisors from approving the lease, it sends a significant message that there is NOT community support for the County’s attempts to expand BIG COMMERCIAL JET operations at Palomar Airport.

Last night’s  vote was consistent with the PAAC November non approval of the United Airlines Lease, though the Board of Supervisors went ahead and did so anyway.

In addition there was a lively discussion on the FAA HOTSPOT designation of Palomar Airport, covered by CBS8 News. Here is the link for this news report:

I want to thank everyone who attended the PAAC meeting last night, demonstrating our resolve to continue to oppose these airport expansion attempts.

Please plan on attending the Carlsbad City Council Meeting on Tuesday 3/24 at 5 PM. We need you to speak to your personal experiences with the airport , and to request the City to actively oppose the county airport expansion efforts.

Thanks again for your support and efforts….Dom Betro
