- City of Carlsbad– It appears that the Carlsbad City Council continues to deliberate entering the C4FA court suit either with, or separate from, the C4FA court action. They have reported these deliberations at the past 3 council meetings. I am hoping that they will decide to take court action on the County’s AA flights, and report this at the, City Council Meeting this Tuesday 3/18/25 at 5 PM.
- Other City Court Actions on AA flights– I hope that you will consider petitioning your City Councils- especially in Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside- to join the C4FA court action. This could really strengthen the court action. Myself, and I am sure C4FA members, would be happy to help you with such an effort. Such North County regional support could really strengthen the C4FA Court Case.(Note: The case is currently scheduled to be heard on Friday April 4, at 3PM in San Diego Superior Court, at 330 West Broadway, San Diego with Judge Pollack. (This is the original judge who ordered the County to comply with the Carlsbad City Conditional Use Permit, should they “expand” Palomar Airport )
- PAAC Meeting- Thursday 3/20/25 at 6PM at Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. I know it has been frustrating and seemingly a waste of time to attend this meeting. However we must continue to publicly register our observations and concerns regarding Palomar Airport operations. I previously sent you my concerns that with the AA operation the County has effectively completely negated the quiet hours, VNAP, and any semblance of working with resident concerns. Attached is a flight path (thankyou Keith Nolde), which is occurring more frequently, especially during inclement weather days, endangering a wide swath of neighbor- hoods. I have also noticed a few days in the past month, when flights, including the AA flights, took off to the east, which I am sure impacted areas like Bressi Ranch and Palomar Estates East and West. (attached are some photos I took of the AA jet on the tarmac Palomar Airport. It is a large aircraft for this airport !) Please consider attending the PAAC Meeting in force, with your fellow residents, and voice your concerns.
As always, many thanks for your efforts and support.
Hope to see you at Carlsbad City Council or PAAC Meetings this week……
