Dear C4FA Friends,
This week C4FA asked the Court for an injunction against the County of San Diego to cease American Airlines flight operations out of Palomar Airport until the Court determines if the County had the authority to use the airport in a way required by American Airlines, without approval from the City of Carlsbad.
The issue is very clear – the County defied the 2021 Coon decision against them. The County confirmed Carlsbad has. final authority on Airport Use. The County has simply chosen to ignore the Court’s order and ignore Carlsbad’s local authority over Airport use.
We are suing to preserve the City of Carlsbad’s local control, Carlsbad residents’ local control, and to ensure that Court orders are followed. Until the County makes their decision on this case, the AA contract should be deemed inralid. Our legal complaint is posted on our website c4fa.org.
American Airlines has been notified of the request for an injunction and has retained independent legal counsel. The injunction hearing is scheduled for April 4th 1in San Diego Superior Court.
We still need your help to pay for this lawsuit to protect our community and to hold the County accountable to honor Court decisions that go against them.
PLEASE DONATE – Litigation is expensive.
Every donation counts, no matter how large or small.
